In October 2016 I was fortunate enough to be part of a workshop with Michael Dunning, the Yew Shaman. It really opened my eyes and gave me a new perspective on many things. During the weekend we went to the churchyard at Llanfeugan where there is a grove of very ancient Yew trees. This image appeared in my mind. It has taken me ages to paint, which I feel is rather appropriate given it's subject, as not only is there lots of detail but I did paint 7 drums from when I started it to when it was completed. There is lots of symbolism in this one.
